FREEDOM - WARRAWONG

The flooring refurbishment at Freedom Warrawong received a complete sand and polish to a fine standard by the team at Oak Flats Floor Sanding & Polishing.

Polycure’s AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K Satin Water-Based Floor Coating was used on the timber floor to create a hard-wearing surface for the many visitors that pass through the store daily.

AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K Water Based Floor Finish has exceptional abrasion and chemical resistance and black heal mark resistance thus making it Ideal for commercial and high traffic environments.

The final results are spectacular!

MCA ACCESSORIES - GREGORY HILLS

Australia’s largest range in motorcycle parts & accessories, MCA Motorcycle Accessories Supermarket is expanding operations into a new store in Gregory Hills, NSW.

This one stop motorcycle shop will see plenty of foot traffic, and display numerous accessories in store for bike enthusiasts to view and purchase.

Chris from Polished floors was commissioned to coat the flooring within the store. 800 square metres was coated in DURAPOL 1014 Low Sheen, single pack, clear subdued gloss. DURAPOL 1014 Low Sheen is highly abrasion resistant and extremely durable coating making this an ideal choice for this new flag ship store.

DURAPOL 1014 has been evaluated for AS/NZS 4586:2004: Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials by Advanced Technology & Research (ATTAR). The coating system passed the required of the “Dry Slip Resistance” and was classified as Dry = F.

DURAPOL 1014 Low Sheen results in a smooth finish, that enhances the natural colour of the timber and when used as a final coat will display a subtle sheen.

DURAPOL - SILKY MATT

As the ever increasingly popular trend for matt floor finishes keeps gaining popularity, we have been inundated with many happy floor sanders and customers who have used Polycure’s – DURAPOL SILKY MATT moisture curing polyurethane.

Not only is this finish bang on trend, it is also easy to apply, highly abrasion resistant, and extremely durable. Best of all DURAPOL SILKY MATT can be applied over itself – used as its own sealer.

A matt floor coating is a great way to achieve a classic, high build, simplistic Scandinavian inspired element to your timber floors. Matt floor finishes will reflect minimal amounts of light and stay looking newer and fresher for much longer once coated.

In addition to looking great, a matt floor is easy to keep clean and does not highlight scratches as easily as other gloss levels.

CANTERBURY-HURLSTONE PARK RSL

The Starlight Auditorium at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL recently underwent a much needed floor coating renovation using Polycure’s AQUAPRO Sports Gloss.

AQUAPRO Sports Gloss is a high performance, two pack, water based floor finish that has exceptional abrasion and chemical resistance and black heal mark resistance. Ideal for application to sports floors; this coating was an ideal choice as it caters for multi-function halls too.

The room is considered a show piece and caters for 450 people; and is an ideal venue for numerous functions. This floor is subjected to heavy foot traffic including standing, walking and dancing.

CORAL SEA APARTMENTS

The Coral Sea Apartments located along the Great Northern Highway on the way to One Tree Hill, Hamilton Island offer spectacular apartment living and ocean views for all visitors.

These open plan – living, kitchen and dining spaces open up to spectacular water view balconies. ATM Floor Sanding and Polishing were commissioned to Install and finish the Blackbutt Timber flooring throughout the 13 apartments.

The polished timber flooring was finished with Polycure’s DURAPOL 1013 Super Satin – A single pack, clear, moisture curing polyurethane. Highly abrasion resistant and durable, resulting in a subtle satin sheen.

These spectacular Blackbutt floors have an even texture that take any style of finish well and are a popular choice for their hard wearing properties especially for interior use applications.

SHORELINE APARTMENTS

Shoreline Apartments on Hamilton Island are sought after for not only their breathtaking water views, but also their beautifully maintained self contained apartments. When these luxury floors needed some TLC they called in Ashley from ATM Floor Sanding and Polishing.

ATM Floor Sanding finished the luxury two bedroom, double story townhouses on the Marina side of Hamilton Island. The Tasmanian Oak timber floors were finished with Polycure’s AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K Water Based Floor Finish in a satin finish.

AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K has exceptional abrasion resistance and excellent chemical and black heal mark resistance (BHMR). It is easy to apply and flows and levels well with low risk of lap marking. AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K Floor Finish complies with Green Building Council Australia – Green Star Rating.

MULTI-PURPOSE SPORTS FLOOR

This multi purpose court was in dire need of rejuvenation. NATUROIL Sports Gloss was used to protect and enhance the natural appearance of this full sized multipurpose court. NATUROIL Sports Gloss was chosen for its ease of application, flow and levelling.

The applicators began by thoroughly cleaning the floor with AQUACARE 8430 Floor Clean & Degreaser. The floor was sanded back to a raw timber to remove any residual coating. Any defects or holes were repaired with suitable putty and the court was again sanded to a professional finish. The first coat of NATUROIL Sports Gloss was applied. This penetrated the timber and provided a sound base for the following coats.

Line markers were called to measure and colour the new line markings. Once this was completed; two more coats of NATUROIL Sports Gloss were applied to finish the court.

This once tired, dull and heavily scratched court now complies with AS/NZS 4586:2004: Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials NATUROIL Sports has been evaluated for pedestrian slip by third party, Advanced Technology Testing Research (ATTAR) against AS/NZS 4586. The coating system passed the requirements of the standard for “Dry Slip Resistance” and accordingly the products are classified as Dry = D1.

The multipurpose court is now bright and ready for any game to come its way!

ROTORUA MUSEUM

Rotorua Museum is located in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, North Island, New Zealand. Rotorua is known for its rich culture, volatile landscape and its dramatic history all of which are showcased in this world class museum.

The museum is housed within the iconic Bath House building, Spa Town of Rotorua, located within the Government Gardens, which was once known as a famous spa that offered therapeutic treatments to visitors from all over the globe.

Mirotone was instrumental in helping the museum restore the floors within the Chamber of Commerce Gallery and Rotorua Trust Gallery. The work was completed by Shane Dorrell of Dorrell Sports Surfaces.

The floors were sanded to 180 grit finish and coated with AQUAPRO 8068 Hitek Water Based Floor Finish then finished with two coats of AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K Floor Finish in a Matt finish.

NATIONAL MUSEUM CANBERRA

The National Museum of Australia is a social history museum that explores the key issues, people and events that have shaped Australia. The National Museum of Australia is located on an 11 hectare site on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Acton, Canberra, just outside the city centre. The administration building extension was completed in 2013 by the original architects, ARM Architecture.

Polycure coatings were used on the administration building extension project with our Polycure white limed stained panels on the walls and ceiling and green stain on the wall cladding and floor of the café. Polycure black stained panels were also used in the reception area.

MELBOURNE CENTRAL

Melbourne Central is a large shopping centre located in Melbourne CBD on the corner of LaTrobe & Swanston Streets. The precinct covers two city blocks and its boundaries lie within Lonsdale, Swanston, LaTrobe and Elizabeth Streets. The centre is linked to Melbourne’s Central train station.

During the Melbourne Central redevelopment, Polycure Wood Coatings were used to create a stunning effect in the semi exterior entry with Polycure stains in vibrant red, orange, black and brown. Inside stains in black beige, grey and brown create a mosaic effect on the walls and ceilings. A polycure Clear, polyurethane topcoat with UV absorbers provides extra protection to the wall and ceiling panels. Ask us for details!

MELBOURNE RECITAL CENTRE

Melbourne Recital Centre is a venue for ensemble music in Melbourne.

The main Auditorium showcases Polycure’s wood coatings with Polycure in honeycake over hoop pine, topcoated with Polycure PU clear polyurethane topcoat. The Salon has hoop pine feature walls ,the foyer features Polycure red and black stains topcoated Polycure PU clear, high gloss polyurethane topcoat. The entry on level 1 showcases Polycure’s PU bright red, black and white high gloss polyurethane topcoats.

WANANGKURA STADIUM

Wanangkura Stadium is Port Hedland’s new multi-purpose recreational centre. The building comprises of a main hall space that accommodates one full-sized indoor show court for basketball and netball and includes volleyball, basketball and badminton courts with fixed and retractable seating for 404 people.

Polycure wood coatings were used on the wall panels with Polycure Stains in honeycake, brown and black top-coated with a Polycure clear, polyurethane coating to create a striking feature on the walls of the main basketball court.

RAC ARENA, PERTH

RAC Arena (formally known as Perth Arena) is an entertainment and sporting arena in the city centre of Perth, Western Australia.

Polycure wood coatings including stains in blue, honeycake and black were used to create the striking design inside with the blue being offset by the warmth of the honeycake stain. Polycure blue polyurethane topcoat continued the colour theme in the main stadium, creating a sea of blue. Polycure PU in red was used to create the contrast of the bright red of the VIP guest lounge.

HAMER HALL ARTS CENTRE

Hamer Hall is Melbourne’s premier concert venue. Located at Southbank Melbourne, Hamer Hall is used for orchestra and contemporary music performances. It is home to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the preferred Melbourne performance venue for the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

During the redevelopment whilst much of the unique heritage of the original building was kept, Polycure polyurethane coatings in bright pinks, yellows and oranges were used to create bold statement features such as the reception desk in bright yellow. Stains were used in matching colours topcoated with Polycure PU clear coatings to continue the colour theme. Polycure’s AQUAPRO 8270 Advance 2K water based floor coating was used on the timber floor to create a hard wearing surface for the many visitors!
